Whitehawk Ranch Men's Golf Club

ABOUT US

The Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club is the pride of Mohawk Valley and the "Lost Sierras". It is situated near the picturesque hamlet of Graeagle which has been a popular family summer retreat for generations.

The fabulous course design features lush green fairways lined by ponderosa pines, cedars, fir, cottonwood and aspen trees. The large sculpted greens are often multi-level, and are designed to reward accurately placed approach shots. There are small meandering streams and ponds that criss-cross and dot the golf course and native grassy areas that, in the spring, flourish with an array of wildflowers, including lupin, daisies and poppies. "The Ranch" is often described as a course you can play every day; it is both challenging, yet fair, and very enjoyable. Golf publications have frequently listed Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club among the ten best public golf courses in California.

The 50-60 member Whitehawk Ranch Men's Golf Club is relatively small but very active in the spring summer and fall. Weekly we have a Men's Day game, a Skin's game and an unofficial, independently organized, "Big Money Game" competition. We also have two annual Member-Member tournaments (spring and fall), a Couple's tournament, a Match Play tournament, a "Battle of the Sexes" (Ryder Cup format) competition against the Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club and a two day (36 hole) Club Championship competition. Our Member-Guest Invitational tournament, the ever popular "Showdown" is a two and a half day Stableford event that includes a "Horse Race".

After your round of golf at "The Ranch", be sure to enjoy some time on "The Veranda" (the nineteenth hole) where, over a beverage and a sandwich, you can enjoy some fellowship while dissecting and replaying your day's game. The Veranda also provides you a spectacular view of Eureka Peak beyond the impressive practice area. If you linger long enough, you might catch a glimpse of a colorful valley rainbow above the course or a majestic sunset over the Sierra Nevadas. Birds of prey such as the bald eagle and osprey can frequently be seen fishing our ponds and streams. Deer, coyote, bobcat and wild turkeys are often found on the golf course as well. It is truly a nature's paradise here at Whitehawk Ranch.

We hope that you can find the time to visit Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club and play a round or two with the members. If you do, you will see why many of us choose the Whitehawk Ranch Men's Golf Club as our "Home Club".
